Access to quality, affordable healthcare is an issue that affects nearly everyone in our country.  The US healthcare system undoubtedly has the best trained medical professionals, most state of the art facilities, and most advanced technology of any country in the world.  However, our system remains a complicated mix of private and public payers that is often difficult to maneuver.  We must work to ensure that all Americans can afford the health care services they need.  To accomplish this, we need a more market based healthcare system that relies on competition among providers, and provides the resources necessary for our healthcare providers to continue delivering the highest quality service.  A more market based approach will help us provide greater flexibility, consumer choice, and lower costs in a more transparent and efficient healthcare system.
